Marc makes a good point. Rules are rules. You can't bend one set of rules in order to satisfy another set of rules. In such a case, one should find a way to comply with both sets of rules. If you have requirements at your workplace that require receipt requests, then that's one thing. The way around this is to use an email account that is not bound by that rule in order to send to this list. Using something like Hotmail or Yahoo would probably satisfy both sets of rules. If you can't find a way to satisfy the rules of this list, you should voluntarily leave. And if there are consequences for not following the rules, then someone should probably enforce those - otherwise the "rules" become "suggestions".
