Amen to that! The last one of these I did took 4 1/2 hours. If I had the option of a wipe/restart I would have saved a ton of time.
Along these lines... I have another one on the horizon (I sent the user off to back up their data files... only a matter of time until they come back). This is a Windows XP Home system. Anyone know how to wipe such a machine completely clean via a format and full reinstall? The last one of these I ran into, I could reinstall XP, but it was over top of the existing files (may have been due to this being a mfr 'restore'-type disk). What I really wanted was a good old-fashioned reformat. Or if I could fdisk the thing to fool the XP installer into going fresh, that would be fine as well.
