Thanks! I've set the EDNS 0 setting by running the dnscmd on my win2003 servers but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Neither does temporarily disabling my firewall.
I can do an nslookup from the command prompt for servers such as ybl.megacity.org and it resolves ok. But I get the following in the spam log if I enable any of the anti-spam checks which require DNS: 07:17 14:15 SMTPD(008A0020) [00002944] <sharedhost> BLACKLIST: connecting to ser vice (ybl:*:ybl.megacity.org) 07:17 14:15 SMTPD(008A0020) [00002944] <sharedhost> BLACKLIST: retrying service (ybl:*:ybl.megacity.org) 07:17 14:16 SMTPD(008A0020) [00002944] <sharedhost> BLACKLIST: failed to connect to service (ybl:*:ybl.megacity.org) If I set the 'SMTP' server DNS setting in iMail administrator to use a UNIX bind DNS server or the MS DNS server on this box it appears to make no difference! Before I did the EDNS 0 setting, the MS DNS server event log was giving error messages about 'bad TCP-based requests' but is no longer doing so. Even so. The system can't connect.
