Troy,               We host a remote backup service for our clients.  We do consulting for small networks and I understand the problems associated with backup systems for a small company. I only like to sell quality components and a good backup system like a DLT and Veritas will cost them $1200 - $1500+.  We have tried most of the suggestions from people here on the list but ended up with this system.  It works better and costs my clients less.               If you would like to offer the system to your clients it is sold by Novastor and is call NovaNet Web.  www.novastor.com               In my experience backup systems are one of the most problematic items on my clients networks.  When I say that I mean its 10% an occasional glitch and 90% human error when it comes to getting a simple task done right – change the tapes daily and check the logs.  It seldom gets the attention it deserves.  When we take on new network clients the first thing we have to do is get them to use the backup system that they paid for but are not using, or using right.  Many companies only keep a weeks worth of data around, never being told how to do a monthly rotation and keep copies off site.      Almost all of our clients are using this system now.   If you are interested and don’t want to run a system yourself contact me off list.  It is very easy to use, can be setup in 15 minutes, more reliable than a tape system, and all data is kept off site encrypted and they can restore ANY version of any file or folder for as far back as 6 months or more.  And bottom line is it’s cheaper for them than a good tape system.     Todd Hunter                   -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Troy D. I've got a client looking to put in a small network of 1 server and 7 workstations. The server will be running Windows 2000 Server. I need to install some backup software that easy for them to manage: checking logs, switching tapes, etc. Yes, I could simply use Windows Backup but I know how they are and how the software works. Too much work should a tape get full or a job fail. I don't want to spend the money for Veritas BackupExec but I need something that is simple to use. Any suggestions?
