I can't seem to get to most of Hotmail's servers...is there any way to tell
Imail to use a specific MX at a specific host?

screw around with hosts file on Imail, since the host file is consulted before DNS to resolve domain names.

here's one MX I admin for an ISP, not showing any problem for hotmail:

Host/Domain Summary: Message Delivery (top 50)
sent cnt bytes defers avg dly max dly host/domain
 -------- ------- ------- ------- ------- -----------
    299 12242k 0 15.2 s 2.2 m yahoo.com
    189 4871k 0 4.1 s 2.7 m aol.com
    152 6675k 0 27.8 s 4.0 m hotmail.com
    110 5813k 0 5.9 s 1.1 m sbcglobal.net

"avg dly" = average delay = how long the msg lived on IMGate as IMGate relayed it, receive to delivery.

msn and hotmail are typically 2 or 5 times longer to deliver than the other big email desinations, but why expect anything different from MS? Today they are not causing any number to show up in the "deferrals" column.

Of course, aol and yahoo are Unix-based mail shops, so that is all designed and operating well.
