To be fair, however, you're not comparing this with the consequences of the alternate behavior: - User must consult an out-of-band session log or faked "System Administrator" message to determine the outcome of a session. - Users must re-compose a message based on the failed addresses only. - Users _still_ don't have any more verbose information as to the reason that an address was rejected, just the 5xx from the server; if they've mistyped an address at their local domain and can't figure that out, they'd likely freak out in either case. I don't know too many users who'd call the help desk for the Outlook behavior, yet who'd be miraculously comfy with the alternate behavior. I seem to be in the minority of people who actually consider this behavior an relative asset for the users in question. And I can't skip this punchline, Rod. . . The Bat! exhibits exactly the same behavior, at least by default. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
