For the moment, let's go the other way on this: 1) At any price, is this a good alternative to Exchange? 2) At this price, is this a good alternative to Exchange?
We've been very happy with iMail, but obviously, Ipswitch has decided not to cater to this market. That's their choice. So, we face an unwelcome change. Might as well consider Exchange. We've never done that before. Why do people install Exchange? Other than price, why don't they? Of course, the last solution is not to do anything at all. Except for spam-filtration that happens during the connection, instead of afterwards, I'm hard pressed to come up with a must-have feature that we don't have. Maybe we can go a year or two without any upgrade / service agreement costs at all! Imail, when extended by the third party products Message Sniffer and Declude, works well today.
