The web mail interface for kerios surprised me because it's the first one I've actually found that I can picture myself actually using on a daily basis. The management interface is not web-enabled (at least, I've not found in the 6+ hours I've been using Kerio :) ), but the management utility *easily* installs on remote windows machines and looks exactly like what's on the server -- basically because it's the same program. And, the management s/w gives you usable tools and statistics.
Can't speak to the tar pitting and what not yet, although are are settings for max number of recipients per message, max number of messages per hour, etc, and settings to make these limits not apply to your mail users.
