Well, think about it.  As an employee you don't always necessarily agree with 
decisions that are made by the company execs, but it's not like you can relay your 
opinions or frustrations to the customer, so you tote the company line, perhaps with a 
bit a frustration in your voice.  ^^

I've talked to a couple of people at Ipswitch in the last couple of days and
what I've found interesting is that when they discuss this fiasco it's
almost as if there was someone behind them with a gun to their head.  Tell
me I'm crazy, but I just felt like there were things they weren't saying
that they desperately wanted to say and were afraid to.
