Bill, Jill or whomever would read this from the Executive Team...

May I suggest you post your email addresses and join this forum?

I'll only speak for myself and our organization, but we don't want or need the bundle. We already have virus scan, we don't allow IM's, and though people want shared calendars and address books...they wouldn't know what to do with it once they got it.

To bundle things in we don't want or need makes us look very hard at the price tag which has gone up substantially for our user count. Opinion only - if you want to increase your sales and profitability within these products:

1. Make them compatible with each other and other Ipswitch products. I have tested some of your products and found them cumbersome to integrate together. Example Imail and FTP Server - odbcuser.dll is different for different packages. centralize on one and the database scheme it uses. I tried combine the two and had only headaches.
2. Make it compatible with other products on the market. We have a different virus program then what Ipswitch uses. Look at Exchange, does it force a specific Virus Engine? I say not - and I speak from experience.
3. Clean up your code. DOS based programs with command lines? It's 2004, not the late 1980's.
4. Offer separate modules at x dollars and then offer the bundle at x-y if you buy it as a bundle.
5. Educate your support staff. I've dealt with them, they seem to be lacking technical understanding of some of your products. We get better and more timely answers on this forum from other users then we get from support.

Business survival depend on new sales, customer retention, and reputation in the market.

Why don't I call you directly? I don't want a canned sales pitch.

Subject: [IMail Forum] A Quick Note from the Ipswitch Executvie Team

A quick note from the Ipswitch Executive Team:

We really do appreciate the input were receiving from IMail users about ICS.  We understand that some of you are unhappy about our decision, and a variety of suggestions are being considered.  Ipswitch is trying hard to balance the needs of both the current user base and the new users we are now attracting to ICS.

Everyones situation is a bit different, and some misconceptions have been posted to the Forum.  If you have questions about your particular circumstances, pricing and functionality details, ideas for us to consider, or would just like to chat, the Ipswitch Executive team would be happy to hear from you.  eMail and blogging have their place, but sometimes telephones are more effective.

At the end of the day, we hope to convince you that ICS is a good thing, because it ensures an aggressive development future for IMail, and protects your investment in Ipswitch messaging infrastructure.  Weve spoken to many people who have downloaded ICS, and they are extremely pleased with it.
