I am just happy to see people speaking up. Essentially Ipswitch has just
bundled other peoples work with their current product and branded it as
something else for capital gain. "MY PERSONAL FREE thinking" and logic makes
me feel that their decision was not well thought out, especially in the way
that it was presented and unloaded on their loyal customer base.

I have to agree that the cost of what they are offering (if we all had a
need for it) would be not so bad in itself. However their support history
and other areas of slow development reaction times coupled with additional
costs makes anyone with logic want to step back and think about where this
is going or where it could go. This all could just as easily be the last
straw to get the most amount of money they can before shutting down or
simply hanging themselves!

Normal price raises through the years are expected by anyone with a business
mind. However web hosting and ISP markets are being flooded with new
companies willing to bootleg the software it takes to get started and
offering more for less forcing price reductions in many of the markets where
we honest companies make our money. The crooked spammers and hackers impose
even more operating costs that raises exponentially with time. Now that the
honest companies that believe in paying for what they get are being slammed
by these operating cost price increases, it leaves many smaller companies
like ours with little recourse but make changes and try to cut costs
wherever we can. Regretfully this means moving away from Ipswitch, a company
we've trusted and recommended for years. I have faith, we will be able to
adapt and survive just fine :) It just means that some of the time I would
have spent relaxing and gaming will now be spent researching a new way to do
what we are already doing and trying to keep the price in the same ballpark.

Right now I am thinking that an SPLA with Microsoft Exchange is looking way
better all the time and/or http://www.workgroupmail.com/ that offers an SA
for less money and also own http://www.workgroupshare.com/ which Ipswitch is
not bundling with Imail. At least with Workgroup Mail server we can still
have our unlimited normal emails and grow with Outlook sharing as the market
demand, not before we have a market for what we are paying for.

Now it Ipswitch had of given this much logical thought, they would be doing
the very same thing without losing a large percentage of what they already
have. However something like ethics are not as important to some companies
as profit, that is truly sad and threatens the overall economy!
