Eric, Scott,

Thanks for clarifying this subject for me!

Scott: I am looking for an email virus scan solution and based on all the positive feedbacks I would be considering Declude now if I knew that Imail standalone will survive, but until this issue clears, I have to put this subject on hold.

But I do have a question about Declude AV, how often does it get updated? Can the update be configured daily, weekly, etc, or maybe it get's triggered from a message from your system?
Is there a major AV product behind it?

So basically you're saying that the operating system of the server itself does not need a virus shield, only the email server service?

These days (where viruses can spread by themselves, without human interaction), it's probably best to have an on-access virus scanner running in the background, but set not to scan the \IMail directory (and any other directories that the mailserver AV scanner may use, if applicable).
