Perl for Windows is actually very easy to install. I forget where I

Active Perl is the most common I think... http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/

I myself use both SA and Declude, and am very happy with both. Needless to say, SA is quite a bit harder to set up, and for people that don't have the *nix experience, there can be a bit of a learning curve.

I know before I became fluent in FreeBSD, I was scared to death to install Perl and rely on a mostly *nix app with no commercial support on one of my most important servers... But I took the plunge, and haven't looked back... as a matter of fact, after using Perl just a little bit, I decided I liked it a lot, and have done some in-house scripting that has made my live as an admin much easier...
