Yeah, what Sandy said. Everything you do with a client you can do with Telnet (if you touch type fairly well). Backspace don't!

I checked that. It was already unchecked. It's as though Outlook think it's enabled but it "ain't".

Uncheck SSL on the POP3 setting. I don't know the exact spot in Outlook 2002, but in 2K, it's on the advanced tab.
