What are the implications of this type of behavior? Part of the RFC states that 
a mail server has to accept NULL senders. We've been blocked before for denying 
NULL senders.

Yes that is correct.  <> can't be delivered to anyone and in the past IMail
would accept the message but the then bounce it later.  Now it rejects the
<> recipient immediately.

Can someone please clarify exactly what it means when it says "SMTPD32 will
no longer accept <> as a valid recipient" in the release notes of the 8.14
patch?  Does it mean that all emails that are sent to the server with <> as
the recipient are rejected?
