That's what has to be done, otherwise there will be a memory leak. I've done so, and the change will be in imap-2006a. I appreciate the effort that you put in to locate and debug this problem.
As a friendly request, I wish that more people would try the development snapshots that I make available. No matter how much regression testing that I may do, some problems simply don't show up until code is tested in the field. I do not have the resources to test every possible site configuration. Thanks.
