Nonsense.  The reference argument to LIST works, and works very well.

The cost of re-opening that can of worms will be mandatory CWD and PWD
commands, along with abolishing the option of having hierarchy semantics
that are incompatible with IMAP URLs.  That'll hurt Cyrus much more than
it'll hurt UW imapd.

RENAME, on the other hand, is broken on almost all servers.  The Cyrus
server (including the one running on imap.andrew.cmu.edu) advertises that
it does not implement RENAME in a compliant fashion NO_ATOMIC_RENAME
capability.
