I'm in-country now and checked in on this. Seems that the upload came from an NRCS volunteer who received OSM training from another group that we work with here in Kathmandu. Our NRCS GIS staffer is going to call the Khotang focal person to explain the problem and talk through why it's inappropriate to include that sort of information in OSM. She'll also ask them to remove the sensitive information.
I'll be back in Kathmandu in a week or so and can follow-up on this. "privacy" is not limited to a familly name and/or phone number. Those data are obvioulsy coming from a census and have not been anonymized enough by the publishers. It's not a reason to broadcast the mistake and archive the private data in OSM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Census#Privacy Pieren _______________________________________________ Imports mailing list Imports@openstreetmap.org<mailto:Imports@openstreetmap.org> https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports
