Age demands respect, not emulation.  To be successful you must learn from
the past and improve upon it, NOT just duplicate it or remain stagnant.

In the context of Solaris, I believe success will come from total
reinvention.  If Solaris was iteration 1, and Linux was iteration 2, Indiana
should be iteration 3.


That is a wise approach, however, which are those problems on the current
ubuntu/debian/apt/dpkg model problems? We can talk about ages about if we
should emulate or improve, but if none can came up with a list of problems
on the current situation it is really hard to do anything else than
emulating.
