I'd imagine that this recording won't be released - it was an *Sun internal* engineering all-hands about project Indiana, not something meant for public discussion (and as such, it may contain information about Sun's internal business plans for the existing Solaris roadmap & support model -- the meeting was a few weeks ago, and I can't remember exactly what was covered and don't have time to listen to the mp3 again) (and before you start complaining, while I would like everything to do with OpenSolaris be discussed in the open, we're just not there yet - but we're getting there) I guess it'd be up to Sun's Solaris management team and/or the Systems Architecture Council Advocates to determine whether this recording can be released. However, I do seem to remember that there wasn't much said about Indiana in the meeting that hasn't already been covered by the following mp3s or this mailing list. Here's a pointer to some media, if you're interested: http://cuddletech.com/blog/pivot/entry.php?id=823 [ video ] http://blogs.sun.com/timf/entry/ian_murdock_at_svosug_the [ audio ] http://www.podtech.net/home/3613/project-indiana-points-to-the-future-of-solaris [ video ] - except to say that during the meeting, there was encouragement from Ian for all of Solaris engineering to engage with Indiana, and to start contributing to the problem *in the open*. If anyone from Sun wants to go back over the mp3 and determine if anything was said at the meeting that should be made public, then feel free to chime in, and add stuff here. cheers, tim -- Tim Foster, Sun Microsystems Inc, Solaris Engineering Ops http://blogs.sun.com/timf _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
