Same story, except for I came from Linux to OS X. I'm comfy and at- home using the GNU userland, and there are millions more like me. So I think that from the Sun and Solaris point of view, a GNU-flavored Indiana is a good thing. But what John is asking for is perfectly reasonable. He wants the Indiana goodies (installer, package manager, and so on) without losing the "Solaris classic" userland. I don't think that's a particularly good investment for Sun, but I think it's 100% reasonable for John , and those who share his tastes, to build what he wants while being part of the Indiana community. -Tim _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list indiana-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
