That's strange... when you pkgadd that file, it says Firefox 3.0 RC2 ...

But when you run the resulting binary, it's 3.0... package was not properly configured? :)

1 ) get package at

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0/contrib/solaris_pkgadd/firefox-3.0.en-US.opensolaris-i386-pkg.bz2

2 ) bunzip the thing

3 ) install with

pkgadd -d ./firefox-3.0.en-US.opensolaris-i386-pkg

4) set your PATH

$ PATH=/opt/sfw/bin:$PATH
$ export PATH
$ which firefox
/opt/sfw/bin/firefox

5 ) run it

$ firefox

runs great for me
