There should be a set of ISOs coming, which will effectively be builds  
prior to 2008.11 being officially released. Ideally most people  
already on the train can just use the updates through IPS - those not  
on the train could use the ISOs.

Agreed - unfortunately the package management GUI was a bare bones  
implementation, and still has a bit of work to provide a similar user  
experience that you have seen elsewhere.
