What you can try is to use zfs to backup a snapshot of your current
os0805-based system to an external storage ("zfs send"), install the os0811
LiveCD over your current system, then restore your snapshot ("zfs receive")
from the external storage.
I also believe that in the not-to-distant future, someone will make DVDs
available which will contain images of repositories from which you can update
your OpenSolaris system without internet connection. In fact Blastwave.org is
already doing something similar with their pkg-get-based packages.
