In fact Blastwave.org > is already doing something similar with their pkg-get-based packages.
It is already possible for BeleniX, putting the repository on a DVD. However due to a limitation in the package manager one has to run a local Apache webserver pointing the documentroot to the DVD. This will be fixed in a couple of weeks. However does it make sense to provide large DVD ISOs of the repository ?
