That was just an example, Alan. The point is, by beadm-mounting the failed BE, you have a chance to look at its logs. When I first participated in the OpenSolaris forum more than 3.5 years ago, if I said anything disrespectful toward any sun.com address owner, i would for sure be gang attacked (including by more of other sun.com address holders). I have not seen this for quite some time now. But old habits never completely go away even though Sun is now much smaller. Surprise, surprise! As much as I am active here (almost 2000 posts), I have not been actively encouraging my friends/associates to visit this forum lest they feel abused. This is exactly the reason. Failure to boot is a failure to boot. A text console is not a failure to boot but a failure to boot into X. What do you not understand? Many others have also plenty described the problem. Last night (or I should say this morning) I stayed up until 2 am (or 7 am EST), because someone stated that he has no problem booting build 107 in VirtualBox (see one of the previous posts in this thread). I tried, tried, and tried. Same darned result. Same darned failure to boot. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
