That was just an example, Alan.  The point is, by beadm-mounting the failed BE, 
you have a chance to look at its logs.

When I first participated in the OpenSolaris forum more than 3.5 years ago, if 
I said anything disrespectful toward any sun.com address owner, i would for 
sure be gang attacked (including by more of other sun.com address holders).  I 
have not seen this for quite some time now.  But old habits never completely go 
away even though Sun is now much smaller.  Surprise, surprise!

As much as I am active here (almost 2000 posts), I have not been actively 
encouraging my friends/associates to visit this forum lest they feel abused.  
This is exactly the reason.

Failure to boot is a failure to boot.  A text console is not a failure to boot 
but a failure to boot into X.  What do you not understand?  Many others have 
also plenty described the problem.

Last night (or I should say this morning) I stayed up until 2 am (or 7 am EST), 
because someone stated that he has no problem booting build 107 in VirtualBox 
(see one of the previous posts in this thread).  I tried, tried, and tried.  
Same darned result.  Same darned failure to boot.
