This works fine for me in the dev builds.. (Lenovo T61)

You can't, and it's not a good idea, either update the whole system to current 
dev from a different boot environment (i.e. "pfexec beadm create dev", reboot 
and boot into it, make /dev the preferred publisher and upgrade..) or wait 
until 2009.06 gets released.
