Sorry, but the improvements to the totem plugins did not make this
release. In GNOME 2.26, the totem-basic-plugin has been replaced
with a much better set of plugins which will all be enabled once
GNOME 2.26 is available.
In GNOME 2.24, the basic plugin does support most free media
formats.
If you want totem in GNOME 2.24 to provide a wider set of media
support, you would need to rebuild the SUNWgnome-media-player
package from the spec-files 2.24 branch. You'ld also need
to edit the base-specs/totem.spec file and remove these lines:
from the call to configure:
--disable-gmp-plugin \
--disable-narrowspace-plugin \
--disable-mully-plugin \
--disable-cone-plugin \

Add some more info on CUPS, printer support, and the new Nvidia

I can also think of Codeina, multimedia codec support, and Compiz
features.
Talking about multimedia support: hopefully the firefox multimedia
totem plugins will be in the new release.
If that's libtotem-basic-plugin.so then yes ;) (and certainly looks like
the Ogg/Theora plugins for Firefox seem to be working well).
