Hi,
how does OpenSolaris create the names for the mountpoints for removable
media?
I have an USB stick with multiple partitions and it's mounted like this:
/media/sitory.db-j on /dev/dsk/c1t0d0p0:1
read/write/nosetuid/nodevices/hidden/nofoldcase/clamptime/noatime/timezone=-3600/dev=35c1150
on Thu Apr 30 20:19:29 2009
/media/Flexi-Drive EC2 on /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s3
read/write/nosetuid/nodevices/intr/largefiles/logging/xattr/onerror=panic/dev=35c0143
on Thu Apr 30 20:19:29 2009
/media/Flexi-Drive EC2-1 on /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0
read/write/nosetuid/nodevices/intr/largefiles/logging/xattr/onerror=panic/dev=35c0140
on Thu Apr 30 20:20:37 2009
The names for the ufs slices (c1t0d0s3 and c1t0d0s0) are okay but what
about the name for the partition with a FAT filesystem sitory.db-j?
Thiis not a real problem - I'm only curious
regards
Bernd
fyi: The partitions and slices on the USB stick
The partitions on the USB sticks are:
Total disk size is 1912 cylinders
Cylinder size is 4096 (512 byte) blocks
Cylinders
Partition Status Type Start End Length %
========= ====== ============ ===== === ====== ===
1 DOS12 0 978 979 51
2 Linux native 978 1027 50 3
3 Solaris2 1028 1911 884 46
SELECT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. Create a partition
2. Specify the active partition
3. Delete a partition
4. Change between Solaris and Solaris2 Partition IDs
5. Exit (update disk configuration and exit)
6. Cancel (exit without updating disk configuration)
Enter Selection:
And the Solaris partition has these slices:
Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
0 root wm 3 - 102 200.00MB (100/0/0) 409600
1 unassigned wm 103 - 358 512.00MB (256/0/0) 1048576
