hello all,
i've a server with os2008.11 and b101, and zones. The pkg authority is
configured "release".
In a zone, i began an update with:
pkg image-update
but during the download phase, i did an interrupt with CTRL-C.
And now, it seems that my zone is broken, because many files have been
replaced in /usr/bin, for instance:
File installation does not happen until after the download phase.
r...@www2:~# file /usr/bin/rm
/usr/bin/rm: executable /usr/perl5/5.8.4/bin/perl script text
hopefully, the global zone is intact, and i can re-create the zone.
But the question is, how can i prevent this kind of error?
because, according this:

the pkgs were replaced before the downloads complete, is it normal?

That can't happen as far as I'm aware. I can only surmise that you've
used the zoneadm attach/detach commands which can trigger updates, or
you were running a package client, or you didn't cancel the process
before the updates started.
The download phase is completely separated from the phase that actually
changes files on your system.
If you can consistently reproduce this, please file a bug, including all
output, note of files changed, etc.
However, in general, I'd note that you're not intended to be able to run
a newer build of OpenSolaris in your non-global zone than your global zone.
Cheers,
