That is really good news! Will there be an escape to the shell so it
can be used for  rescue? Since it is quite possible to install Open
Solaris from sxce (or Solaris 10), as said, IMO there's less need
for a new installer than for a rescue method.

The scenario is a failed update (e.g., because of a beadm glitch)
where it isn't possible to boot a previous BE because ZFS has
been updated for a new feature. If such a beadm bug spans releases
it might be impossible to go back (as happened with b122/b123).
Unless you stay on the update roller-coaster, you could face a
scenario where no update is possible...

Yes, but the text UI, which will be available in both x86 and SPARC in
coming months, will perhaps dampen the demand yet further for a GUI
installer for SPARC.
