Hegde ji
Bassia under Sapotaceae is based on Bassia L., published in Mantissa
plantarum, 1771 an illegitimate name because Bassia All., 1766 under
Chenopodiaceae was published earlier. Hence all Sapotaceae Bassia taxa got
names under some other genera.
