Dear Usha di ji,
Marathi word_Khajkhujali means Itching (irritation in skin_skin khujana)

Wenever d Pod of Mucuna comes in contact with skin, immediately iching is
started over there, so that local people named it as Khaj-khujali /
Khaj-kuiri !!

And Fortunately or unfortunately i hv experienced with both species pod
M.pruriens n M.monosperma at my farm (Pune region) !!
Skin touch experience was unforgotable n horrible ever !! :)

Warm wishes,
Anita Kindre.
