Some more interesting information: African Tulip flowers are especially adapted for *hummingbird pollination*
It is reported that flowers give out a foxy smell at night attracting bats for pollination. It is sometimes reported that pollination occurs both by birds (ornithophily) as well as Bats (chieropterophily) Photograph in Pradip Krishen on Trees of Delhi shows a bat sitting on flowering branch. Bats were thought to be the pollinators of the West African scarlet bell (*Spathodea campanulata*<http://links.jstor.org/sici?sici=0026-6493(1974)61%3A3%3C702%3APABIIW%3E2.0.CO%3B2-F> *)*, but it was found that the bats make a hole at the base of corolla, suck the nectar without ever touching the anthers or the stigmas. -- Dr. Gurcharan Singh Associate Professor SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 Res: 932 Anand Kunj, Vikas Puri, New Delhi-110018.
