Sir, as you know i am trying to tread a path where only a few members dare
to express their opinion! I take advantage of the fact that i have nothing
to lose!

Well, i think the spikelets here are different than what i have
<https://groups.google.com/d/msg/indiantreepix/QmI1CxoKHoI/LiY0n23-AwAJ>
here. 4th and 5th pics in this set indicate presence of more than one
florets per spikelet. So, your new find won't be *C. paniceus*, i think
would be *C. cyperoides*.
But, here is a problem, number of spikelets per spike is less than what has
been described in FoC or FoP. Given that *C. cyperoides* is a very variable
(please check endnote in FoC
<http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=242101118>)
species i think i would select *C. cyperoides* for this one.

We should wait for view of Prasad ji and/or others.

Thank you very much for taking care.

Regards

surajit
