Taxonomy of *Cerastium fontanum* looks quite complex.
Also no habit and lower portion image, makes the task further difficult.
Cerastium fontanum does not have distribution in our area as per POWO
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:152255-1>
and CoL and also looks different as per GBIF
<https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/gallery?taxon_key=3085458> specimens.
Two subspecies can be expected as per FoP
<http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=242311891> and
CoN <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=110&taxon_id=106150>
*Cerastium fontanum* subsp. *triviale* (Link) Jalas (syn. of *Cerastium
glomeratum* <https://efloraofindia.com/2011/02/14/cerastium-glomeratum/> as
per POWO
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:152274-1>)
looks different as per GBIF <https://www.gbif.org/species/3085440> specimens
.
*Cerastium fontanum* subsp. *grandiflorum* H. Hara appears somewhat close
as per POWO
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:875735-1>,
GBIF <https://www.gbif.org/species/8496662> specimens- one
<https://api.gbif.org/v1/image/unsafe/http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kew.org%2Fherbcatimg%2F669837.jpg>,
two
<https://api.gbif.org/v1/image/unsafe/http%3A%2F%2Fmediaphoto.mnhn.fr%2Fmedia%2F1441383504197bEIC0hHNKXNvKNxn>,
three
<https://api.gbif.org/v1/image/unsafe/http%3A%2F%2Fmediaphoto.mnhn.fr%2Fmedia%2F1441383491530LNFCqEo7g6Rd0vjl>,
but has only distribution in Nepal as per CoN
<http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=110&taxon_id=242000275>
and POWO
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:875735-1>
and CoL
<http://www.catalogueoflife.org/annual-checklist/2019/details/species/id/f8a907798601bf82f4a5497300eb51e0/synonym/a1bc91bb3ab53d89e8d68dc30839f99c>.
But it appears close to your area as per distribution in POWO.
But I am still not sure.
