As far as difference in Senna sophera and Senna occidentalis is concerned
it can not be on leaflets but

" *Senna sophera* is closely related to *Senna occidentalis* (L.)Link. The
two are often confused, but the pods of the latter are circular in
cross-section, not compressed, and have 2 rows of seeds. "
