विदा means knowledge. So विदागार etc. can stand for knowledge-base. For data,
दत्तांश is used in kannada and sanskrit. Database can be दत्तांशनिधि etc. or
just दत्तनिधि or just निधि when the context is obvious. This may or may not be
'usable' in Marathi. In Sanskrit there can be many synonyms based on particular
sentence-formation or context -- for e.g data can be उपात्तम् also. Please note
the word 'datum' in singular and 'data' in plural seems to come from Sanskrit
past-participle दत्तम् (what is given) from verb-root 'दा’. But of course i am
not an authority on marathi usage and रूढि may vary from language to another..
