I do agree with you.I will suggest Monika to do the changes.

Here I just want to clarify that whether Govt of India announced this new
rupee sign as a standard symbol (for all languages).If so what's the
importance of other rupee signs in Unicode table for various languages
including RS.

As per unicode they treated this new  sign as new character, and they will
assign a new value (they proposing U+20B9),also Current rupee signs will
remain as same in the Unicode Currency List.

For representing the older documents ,those signs have to be there,but the
same time, if this sign became standardized then I feel the unicode chart
also have to be standardized with only one Rupee sign.
