CARE Indonesia, as an international NGO, has carried out large scale
operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency operations,
transitional activities centered on agriculture and nutrition and a
range of development initiatives in such areas as water and
sanitation, agriculture and natural resources, health, micro-credit
and civil society/good governance. CARE is presently seeking
WATER & SANITATION (WATASAN) SPECIALIST Tangerang
The Watsan Specialist will work closely with the Environmental
Health Project Manager, Community Nutrition Project Manager, Health
Services Project Manager, Urban Program Manager, and Monitoring &
Evaluation Officer.
Watsan Specialist will assist and support the PM in the following
activities in the project area of Tangerang City and Kabupaten:
- to develop/review guidelines and manuals for various water-and-
sanitation related activities in the participating rural and urban
sites;
- to provide input into the analysis of water quality tests and
suggest remedial measures as necessary;
- to develop a set of technical options and their associated costs
and management implication (including operating cost and maintenance
requirements) for improved waste disposal, sanitation, and water
supply
- to develop guidelines and manual for preparation of construction
method, schedule and labour managements plan (include identification
of skilled based on the communities small contractor) for improved
water and sanitation facilities based on the communities capacity
- to continuously monitor the work of teams and make appropriate
recommendations for changes in approach, strategy, new project
materials, new technologies, training ,etc; and
- to develop training modules, identification of resources and
training materials.
Qualifications:
· Have a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
· Three (3) year's experience in a related position is preferable
· At least 3 years experience in the related work
· Prior work experience with international NGOs is preferable.
· Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
· Ability to work with a team and with minimum supervision
