Rekan2, just FYI, UN/ISDR (United Nation International Strategy for Disaster Reduction; http://www.unisdr.org/) belum lama ini telah merilis sebuah computer games berjenis simulasi mengenai kebencanaan untuk anak usia 9-16 tahun. Games ini merupakan salah satu alat kampanye Pengurangan Resiko Bencana Dunia 2006-2007 yang bertema “Disaster Risk Reduction Begins at School”
Games tersebut bisa dimainkan online di: http://www.stopdisastersgame.org/isdr.html Berikut saya kutipkan dari FAQ-nya: "Education is key for reducing children’s risks to disasters. Children are one of the most vulnerable groups when disasters occur. If we teach them from the early age about the risks posed by natural hazards, children will have a better chance to save their lives during disasters. The on-line game aims at teaching children how to build safer villages and cities against disasters. Children will learn playing how the location and the construction materials of houses can make a difference when disasters strike and how early warning systems, evacuation plans and education can save lives. Children are the future architects, mayors, doctors, and parents of the world of tomorrow, if they know what to do to reduce the impact of disasters, they will create a safer world." Games ini lumayan bikin kecanduan juga (bagi yang senang main game tentunya), sayangnya hanya tersedia versi online (yang lumayan rakus bandwidth) dan dalam bahasa Inggris. Barangkali kita bisa dorong sama-sama supaya UN/ISDR merilis juga versi standalone yang bisa kita gunakan untuk mempercepat spreading games ini di kalangan teman2 kecil kita.
