JOB VACANCY - HEALTH Project Officer

Spanish Red Cross (SRC) is looking for qualified candidates for the
position of `Health Project officer' to join our team in Nias; North
Sumatra; Indonesia.

Position Health Project Officer - CBFA Community Based First
Aid / Community based health project
Location Teluk Dalam, South of Nias, Indonesia
Unit/department /delegation: Health, Nias Sub-delegation, SRC
Spanish Red Cross Indonesia - PMI

Overall responsibilities

Responsible for the management of the CBFA project, in coordination
with the SRC Health Delegate. Reporting directly to and working in
close collaboration with the SRC Health Delegate. The Project Officer
will have significant responsibility for logistics, human resources,
training and administration of issues related with the project
consistent with SRC procedures, to ensure project objectives are
achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effective and efficient management of the field project
activities in line with the project proposal, the budget, time-frame
and SRC regulations as delegated by the Health Delegate.
• Management and coordination of the CBFA Health team.
• Implementing organizational procedures, systems and
guidelines.
• Reporting in line with SRC internal requirements.
• Ensuring, in coordination with the Health Delegate, that
appropriate administrative, human resource, financial and logistical
procedures are in place, maintained and adhered to so that all
project activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
• Preparation of minutes and follow-up on team meetings.
• To plan and coordinate under the supervision of the SRC
Health delegate, the CBFA program and related activities in the area
• Organize the trainings for the Communities regarding the CBFA
activities
• Organize and supervise the collection of information in the
field and the volunteers database
• Participating in the development a training database and
ensuring that the database is regularly maintained
• Managing national staff on the CBFA team and support for
recruitment, team building, and conducting appraisals.
• Maintaining good inter-team communications and engendering
positive team dynamics.
• Organize and implement KAP surveys and community assessments
• Assist on the making of MoUs of Contracts with the
Communities and/or local authorities
• Prepare the Weekly Planning
• Prepare Weekly Report every week about the projects situation
and the activities performed during the week
• Maintain good relationships with local authorities at various
levels (camat, Kapaladesa, etc…)
• Promote a harmonious working relationship with the other
departments and NGOs working in the Community.
• Build a good relationship with PMI, IFRC, and other PNSs
• Attend coordination meeting with the SRC Delegate and
support him in translations

Required Qualifications and Professional Skills:

• Nurse or doctor (knowledge on Public Health, Community based
First Aid) University degree essential and a master on public health
an advantage
• Previous similar work experience supervising CBFA projects
• Working experience in the RC and other International
Organizations.
• Previous experience working in the South of Nias an asset
• Experience on organizing trainings and working with
Communities
• Good Report writing skills.
• Good social and communication skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Good analytical and organizational skills.
• Good problem solving skills
• Team leadership skills
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English,
Bahasa Indonesia
• Honesty and commitment to the Red Cross Principles
• Energetic and well motivated
• Positive attitude to problems
• Ability to take decisions and accept responsibilities
• Flexible, eager to continuous professional development
