And this is bad news for the pro-independence people of East Timor if they are still not fully independent by then. Because Mega would reliquish East Timor under no circumstances. I tried to change her view by suggesting that Indonesia got East Timor by unlaw- ful means internationally speaking because the United Nations both the Security Council and the General Assembly never recognized the integration of Dilli and we have lost too many lives, too many funds now needed very much for our own economic rehabilitation.
