How ironical, how life is full of ironies. It is the great Satan of the West that come to the party and help the Muslim of Kosovo. It is the great Satan of the West that is on the side of the Ottoman Islam against the Austro-Hungarian Christian. But where is the Islamic brotherhood? Where are the supports from other Islamic nations? I have not seen and heard any. In fact, if I am not wrong, I even saw that Indonesia, being the largest Islam nation in the world, voiced its protest against the bombing of Yugoslavia by the great satan of the West. I often wonder about the so called Islamic brotherhood. It appears to me that the brotherhood only exists in good times, but not when "a friend in need is a friend indeed" situation. Tell me how many other Islamic nations have come to the aid of Indonesia in its current crisis? As far as the greatest Satan of them of all, namely Uncle Sam, you might not agree with them but at least you got to admire them for their conviction. When they are convinced that they are on the side of righteousness, they act on it. I disagreed with them totally on Vietnam. I felt they have no right to be there and that it was not the right way of fighting Communism. I was convinced from way back that Communism, like the Black hole, would collapse under its own weight. Some people said that Capitalism has triumphed over Communism. I think they have missed the point completely. To me, it is the triumph of "the freedom to acquire knowledge" over "the denial to acquire knowledge". Any system that denies people the freedom to acquire knowledge would eventually collapse under its own weight. Be it communism, religious, fascism, militarism or dictatorship. They cannot deny the fundamental forever. Why? Simple, the Universe needs to know. It would never allow any third rate, man made system in this pitiful earth to deny its right to know. Back to Uncle Sam. People tend to forget that it fought a civil war against itself for the freedom of others. It fought itself to eliminate institutional discrimination. It might not have succeeded completely, but at least it tried. That is why it has become a great nation and has the moral authority. You tell me how many nations on his pitiful earth have done that. How many nations prepare to do that. On the contrary, most nations on this earth could not move fast enough to institute discrimination against its own citizens. Witness Kosovo. Witness Indonesia.
