Timor: 15 East Timorese Youths To Boycott Balloting Denpasar, Bali, Aug 5 (ANTARA)- As many as 15 East Timorese youths in Denpasar, Bali threaten to boycott the balloting to be held on August 30, if UNAMET (United Nations Mission in East Timor) or IOM (International Migration Organization) will not take an open and neutral attitude during the balloting. The statement was conveyed in a demonstration to the commitee for balloting registration, which was motored by the Chairman of the Forum for Unity, Democracy and Justice (FPDK) in Bali, Jhony Dominggus Des Santos in Denpasar on Wednesday. In a demonstration which was started at 15:30 local time, he urged UNAMET/ION no to complicate the East Timorese people's participation in the balloting, scheduled near the end of August, 1999. In addition, he urged UNAMET/ION not to play games with the East Timorese people in the balloting process. "More importantly UNAMET/IOM should be neutral, and not take sides with one of the groups in the balloting process. If UNAMET/IOM fais to meet the demand, they should be dissolved or we will boycott the balloting," Jhoni stressed.
