Hello folks. We're evaluating the usefullness of the NT/AFS client.
Our NT guys are looking at it and complaining about the fact that the file
manipulation interface requires use with the NT 3.51 file manager rather
than the newer explore. We're also seeing strange crashes when we
authenticate to an AFS cell and try to use the explorer. Yet the explorer
works when no tokens are present.
Is this an artifact of patch level 7 or is there no support for the
Windows Explorer? If there is not, is there a plan to incorporate Explorer
support in the future? When?
The other complaint was about the web site at Transarc. They could
not find a description of the NT/AFS product there and, in conjunction with
the file manager/explorer problem, concluded that the NT/AFS product is
dead, being burried by the march of Microsoft technology.
