Transarc said as much to those of us who participated in the customer
conference call this year. They expressed a renewed committment to
developing AFS, and promised:

  - A Win95 client based on the NT client (egads)
  - Windows NT AFS server
  - NT-based 'command console'/admin tool

There were other things promised which I have in my notes somewhere.

I'm 'cautiously optimistic'. I think AFS is a great product, and the
only good solution currently available for some needs. I would love to
see it given the development and marketing support it needs to become
extremely successful. Transarc is an IBM company, though, and there are
lots of great ideas and software that have never seen the light of day out
of IBM labs.
