The whole point of this "rename" debate is to have it in public. You don't have to read it (again) if you've already made up your mind (unless you have some nagging doubts about what you believe you know, or maybe you have some new ideas to contribute). I doubt any of the three or so of us really cares what the others think. We've long ago more or less realised that we're not going to change the other's minds on this matter. However we (and certainly I) do care what the rest of you otherwise uninvolved readers think about CVS and how it currently works though. Unless one of us finally does "win" it will undoubtably be necessary forever more to correct attempts by the others to mis-inform the public on an ongoing basis! ;-) I'm personally also interested in expanding the knowledge about how to properly deal with the limitations of CVS and how to use them to your advantage instead of tripping over them all the time. If through this debate I can extend some of the things I've learned out into the public domain where others can find them and learn too then I'll be happier as a result. I really do try to keep the name calling and ad hominem attacks to the absolute minimum possible (at least in public ;-), and to keep the information content as high as possible. -- Greg A.
