What is the full command line you are using for your checkout? By "fresh checkout" do you mean you are using an empty directory or are you running a new checkout where there already is one?

Immediately, by accident, I deleted the branch tag from the same file. Then, I used cvs admin -o to delete the file revision created by that branch tag Now when I try to update my local copy with the branch, I get an error "cvs [update aborted]: missing expected branch" If I try to do a fresh checkout of the branch, I get the same error. Please help me to get rid of this error. Thanks, mist. Send free SMS to your Friends on Mobile from your Yahoo! Messenger.
