Reads like master kills its servant, eh? No, this message is displayed also when a child unexpectedly dies. I have this effect e.g. when I give a wrong "-C <configfile>" in /etc/cyrus.conf. The master will fire up the imapd upon connects on 143 and the imapd will puke because it does not find <configfile>. To your explanation above: Maybe the imapd has a problem with a special mail it cannot handle? Maybe you give it a closer look by skimming through the /var/spool/imap/user/... structure where your user stores his mails. Regards, - Birger
